Cookie Policy
Last updated: 21 October 2026
1. What cookies are
Cookies are small text files that websites store on your device when you visit them. They help the website work properly, remember your preferences and, in some cases, collect information about how the website is used.
This policy explains which cookies we use on impactsci.org, what they are for, how long they last and how you can control them. To find out how we handle your personal data, see our Privacy Policy.
2. Who is responsible
IMPACTsci, Lda.
Tax number (NIPC) 517 113 279

3. How we ask for your permission
When you first visit the website, we show a notice where you can accept all cookies, reject all, or choose by category.
Strictly necessary cookies are set automatically, because the website cannot work without them. All other cookies are only set after you allow them.
You can change your mind at any time. To do so, click “Cookie settings” in the footer of any page. Withdrawing your permission is as easy as giving it, and it does not affect your use of the website.
4. Categories of cookies we use
Strictly necessary
These make the website work: they remember the language you are browsing in and your cookie choices, so we do not ask you again. They do not collect information about you for marketing and cannot be switched off.
Statistics
These help us understand how the website is used (which pages are visited most, how long people stay, where they come from) so we can improve it. We use Google Analytics for this. The information is handled in aggregate and does not identify you directly. They are only set if you allow them.

6. Transfers of data outside the EU
Google Analytics is operated by Google, which may process data on servers outside the European Economic Area. These transfers are covered by the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework, to which Google has signed up, and by standard contractual clauses approved by the European Commission.
Google Analytics 4 does not log or store IP addresses.
7. Managing cookies in your browser
As well as the choices panel on our website, you can manage or delete cookies directly in your browser. Please note that blocking all cookies may stop this and other websites from working properly.
- Chrome: Settings → Privacy and security → Third-party cookies
- Safari: Settings → Privacy
- Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data
- Edge: Settings → Cookies and site permissions
You can also stop Google Analytics from collecting data by installing the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on (opens in a new tab).
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy whenever the cookies we use change, or for legal or operational reasons. The date of the last update is shown at the top of the page. We recommend checking it from time to time.
